DescriptionMateja Koležnik stages Ibsen's "Ghosts" at the Berliner Ensemble as a dark chamber play about a powerful matron. Mateja Koležnik and her team have changed their artistic concept due to the current reality of "social distancing". Raimund Orfeo Voigt and Leonie Wolf have designed a spatial labyrinth from which there seems to be no escape and which at the same time plays excitingly with the greatest possible distance between people. The loneliness and the inscrutability of the overall dynamic for the individual condenses spatially oppressively. No outside in sight. The audience imagines the respective encounters by editing and counter-cutting, similar to film. The Slovenian theatre and opera director Mateja Koležnik has already staged four plays by Ibsen. She works regularly in Vienna, Munich, Frankfurt, Basel and Ljubljana. Koležnik has won numerous prizes and awards and most recently staged the German premiere of Arne Lygre's "Nichts von mir" at the Berliner Ensemble.
