DescriptionSculptor professor Arnold Rubek and his wife Maja have been married for several years, but they do not feel real affection for each other. They live a boring life, which they try to liven up with summer trips, this time with a boat trip along the sea coast. The professor once promised his wife that he would take her to the top of the mountain so she could see all the magnificence of the world, but it never happened. Their lives are turned upside down when, in the summer resort where they are waiting for the ship to depart, Maja meets the eccentric bear hunter and landowner Ulfheim, and the professor meets his former model, Irene, who posed for him for several years for his sculptural masterpiece Resurrection Day . Irene unexpectedly and inexplicably left the professor just before the work was finished. The quartet, who have lived their lives in the painful absence of love and turned into human beasts as a result, head high into the mountains in the hope of a chance to start over. Ibsen's last and rarely staged drama, which delves into the deep problems of humanity, was directed, for the first time in Slovenia, by the renowned Bulgarian director Stiliyan Petrov, known for the specific poetic nature of his performances and his meticulous attention to the actors' creations.
