DescriptionThe original play has been transposed to Italy in the 1990s, not only by translating the characters names into italian, but also by esuring that the characters exemplified the typical behaviour of the average italian people during those years. Singing interludes from the character of the Captain were inserted during scene changes. The acts were reduced from five to two and Dr. Stockmann has only one daughter. If in Ibsen's original text the doctor decides to open a school to educate the young people of his city, in Pugliese's adaptation he chooses to do so using a radio, which he calls Radio Diletta in honor of his daughter
