| Description | Most of the plays staged in Tbilisi did not last for more than one or two performances, but "An Enemy of the People" was staged six times – an unusual success for a play of "the new genre". Reviewers responded not only to the first performance, but also to the following ones. Many of them wrote about the universal meaning of the piece, which is "so ideal and runs so wonderfully that it should be made 'the nail of the season', the 'fighting' piece'". |
