| Notes | The Theater am Schiffbauerdamm was opened on 19 November 1892 as the Neues Theater am Schiffbauerdamm, and served as venue under many different directors and changing names. From 1954 the Berliner Ensemble, founded by Berthold Brecht in 1949, moved into the building and changed the official name of the venue to Berliner Ensemble.
