Further InformationFrom the source website: / Written by Henrik Ibsen, the play takes an in-depth look at corruption, at a time when Mozambique is undergoing a crisis generated by the effects of this phenomenon. / / Mutumbela Gogo is joining several world-wide institutions engaged in the fight against corruption. The piece was written 150 years ago but its content is always up to date, with Mozambique currently immersed in a very explicit corruption scenario. / / Despite constantly reporting situations of corruption, the play does not evince concrete cases but seeks to generalize to show how the problem becomes ingrained. Mutumbela Gogo wants the work to incite a peaceful revolt, with every citizen fighting this evil in his or her post. / / As well as awakening society to the evils of corruption, Teatro Avenida and Mutumbela Gogo also want the play to celebrate 40 years of cooperation between Mozambique and Norway.
