A Doll's House was set up a total of five times in Shanghai, Jinan and Nanjing during 1935. Because of this and a strong feminist debates on the basis of the play's 1935 history of Chinese theater called "The Nora Year".
Lan Ping (stage name for Jiang Qing) later became known as Mao Zedong's fourth wife.
