Amateur Production. The production was stopped by local authorities after the third performance and Wang Ping who played Nora was fired from her job as a teacher.
A Doll's House was set up in a total of five times in Shanghai, Jinan and Nanjing during 1935. Due to this and a strong feminist debate, based on the play's 1935 history of Chinese theater called "The Nora Year".
