Les Borkman |
Description | To best recreate the shadowy intensity of John Gabriel Borkman, one of Henrik Ibsen's last plays, Christophe Sermet made the challenge of an original and radically contemporary adaptation. Made to measure for a core of actors close to his work within the Compagnie du Friday, his rewriting of Borkman breathes an unsuspected vitality into this gratingly harsh text, rarely staged, by the great Norwegian playwright.
For more than fifteen years, Christophe Sermet has displayed a strong and unique identity on stage. Through his stripped-down aesthetic, he highlights the complexities of human feelings and offers us a raw theater of great authenticity. With his Borkman punk rock accents, punctuated by live guitar pieces, he takes Ibsen's drama into a powerful and rhythmic universe, carried by the intensity of its group of faithful performer |
