DescriptionWritten in 1894, this is one of Henrik Ibsen's lesser-known works and is considered to be the first symbolist play by the acclaimed Norwegian playwright. This production, directed by Martim Mesquita Guimarães, embraces the symbolist nature of the work by emphasising the symbols already present in this play, which has the Allmers family as its central figure. In "Little Eyolf", Ibsen brings us the story of a couple on the verge of disintegrating, questioning themes such as their vocations, maledictions, and obligations. Torn between human responsibility and the law of change, the Allmers end up immersed in their guilt and rebuild their lives after a tragic oversight.
